The Multiple Needs Service

CASA's Multiple Needs Service helps people who have mental health problems and who misuse alcohol or other drugs. This is sometimes described as having a dual diagnosis.

Individuals with these problems often have difficulty in accessing appropriate help. The Multiple Needs Service has worked with these issues since 1995. We work very closely with other statutory and non-statutory partners, helping our clients to build good support networks within the community.

Who the service is for

  • Residents of Camden who are aged 18 and over
  • People who are are concerned about their drug and alcohol use, as well as their mental health.
  • Those who find it difficult to access mental health or drug and alcohol services.
  • People who are using other services, but who would like extra support in the community.

What the service offers

  • Advice, information and help in accessing other services.
  • Individual counselling.
  • Support groups in community settings.
  • Advice and support for relatives and carers.

Our approach

The service helps individuals to stabilise, reduce or stop their drug and alcohol use, and to take steps to improve their mental well being. We draw on a wide range of psycho-therapeutic tools focussing on crisis prevention, harm minimisation and the improvement of social skills.
