About CASA

CASA is a non-statutory treatment agency with premises in North London. We are a charity and a limited company. CASA was established in 1974 and since then has helped many thousands of local residents to tackle their own alcohol or drug misuse, or to cope with the substance misuse of someone close to them.

We treat each individual and family as unique, with their own particular strengths and needs. We believe that people can build upon their strengths to achieve lasting, positive change. Underlying all of our work is a commitment to form therapeutic relationships with the individuals and families who come to us for help. It is through these relationships that positive change takes place.

CASA's service users are partners in planning and reviewing their own treatment. Service users also play a very active role in the agency, for example by taking part in the CASA User Forum. As well as helping us to create a better service, being involved in these ways encourages our service users to take back control of their lives, free from substance dependency.

CASA's funding comes from a wide range of sources, including contracts with local statutory bodies and funding from central government, charitable trusts and private donations. As a result most of CASA's services are free to our service users.
